We mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.

We add the ghee and rub it into the semolina thoroughly.

We add yogurt, cold sugar syrup, and coconut oil, then mix until well combined.

We grease a shallow baking tray with ghee and spread the basbousa mixture evenly.

We cut the basbousa and garnish with almonds, then let it rest for 20 minutes.

We preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the basbousa on the middle rack.

Once the edges turn golden, we broil the top until golden brown.

Immediately after baking, we brush the top with ghee and pour very hot syrup over it.
