- 2Tablespoons (tbsp)Vegetable oil
- 1.5CupSugar
- 1PinchSalt
- 1PinchSaffron
- 1.5CupWarm water
- 0.5To TasteSyrup
Steps

Activate the yeast by adding the yeast and sugar to ½ cup of warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes foamy

In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, oil, baking powder, saffron, and salt. Then add the yeast mixture.

Knead while gradually adding warm water until you get a soft, elastic dough.

Continue kneading for 5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and stretchy.

Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.

After proofing, deflate the dough to remove air bubbles before shaping.

Fry the luqaimat in two stages: first, fry them lightly, then fry again until golden and crispy.

Immediately dip the hot luqaimat in cold syrup to ensure crispiness.
