- 2CupEgyptian rice
- 0.5CupSugar
- 2.25Liters (L)Hot water
- 1PinchSalt
- 1To TasteBlack pepper
- 1Teaspoons (tsp)Cinnamon
- 2Tablespoons (tbsp)Clove
- 1CupRaisin
- 1Tablespoons (tbsp)Pine Nuts
- 1CupAlmonds

Place the butter in a pot over heat until it melts and becomes hot.

Add the washed and soaked rice to the hot butter.

Stir the rice constantly until its color changes and becomes golden.

In a separate pan, add half a cup of white sugar over medium heat.

Stir the sugar until it caramelizes and turns into a golden-brown liquid.

Carefully add the hot water to the caramelized sugar while stirring continuously.

Add the salt, black pepper, cinnamon, and cloves to the caramel-water mixture.

Pour the caramel mixture with the spices over the toasted rice in the pot.

Cover the pot with aluminum foil, then with its lid, and let the rice cook on low heat for about 20 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed and the grains are fluffy.

Meanwhile, toast the raisins, pine nuts, and almonds in a little butter until golden.
