    We cut the pomegranate crosswise (horizontally), not lengthwise, to get two equal halves.

    We hold one half of the pomegranate and flip it so that the peel is facing up and the seeds are facing down over a large bowl.

    We start hitting the peel firmly using a kitchen mallet, pestle, or any heavy tool until the seeds begin to fall into the bowl.

    We continue hitting until the entire pomegranate is emptied of its seeds.

    Once finished, we serve the seeds as is or use them to make refreshing juice in a glass with a straw.
