Ingredients

  • 2CupSemolina
  • 1CupFlour
  • 1Tablespoons (tbsp)Corn Starch
  • 1PacketYeast
  • 0.25Tablespoons (tbsp)Vegetable oil
  • 1Cupwater
  • 0.5CupMilk
  • 2CupYogurt
  • 3CupSugar
  • 1Psc.Lemon juice
  • 1Teaspoons (tsp)Rose water

Steps

    for sugar syrup: - 2 cups sugar - 1 cup water - 1 tsp lemon juice - 1 tsp rose water

    For the sugar syrup: Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until it boils (don’t stir).

    Add the lemon juice and let it simmer for 8 minutes until it thickens slightly, then remove from heat and add the rose water.

    Combine the dry ingredients together and mix well.

    Add the wet ingredients and whisk until you get a smooth, thick dough (almost like the consistency of hareeseh).

    Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

    After fermentation, stir the mixture with a spoon and transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.

    Squeeze the mixture into hot oil in any desired shape and fry until golden brown.

    Immediately dip the fried pieces in the cool sugar syrup!
