  • 0.5Tablespoons (tbsp)Mahleb
  • 5Teaspoons (tsp)Mastic

  • 0.5Teaspoons (tsp)Baking soda
  • 1Tablespoons (tbsp)White Vinegar

Steps

    In a blender, add the water, yeast, baking powder, mahleb, and mastic, then blend with sugar and mix until we get a smooth liquid mixture.

    Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

    Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and stir for 3 minutes until well combined.

    Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes to rise.

    After the dough has risen, start pouring the mixture into the hot pan.

    Leave the dough on the pan until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip it over. Each piece should take about one minute on medium heat.

    Once the qatayef is golden, place it between towels to keep them soft

    Fill the qatayef with your favorite filling.
