  • 1Grams (g) Hot chilli
  • 1Cupwater
  • 2PinchSalt
  • 0.25Tablespoons (tbsp)White Vinegar

    Choose small turnips and cut off the top and bottom.

    Cut the turnips into thick slices.

    Place layers of turnip slices in a colander, sprinkling coarse salt between each layer.

    Rinse the turnip slices to remove excess water.

    Layer the turnip slices, hot chili peppers, and fresh beetroot in jars.

    Prepare the brine: for each liter of water, add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and ¼ cup of white vinegar.

    Pour the brine over the turnips in the jars.

    Seal the jars tightly and leave them for 5 days to a week.
