- 1Grams (g) Mushroom
- 1Psc.Onion
- 1Teaspoons (tsp)Curry powder
- 0.5Teaspoons (tsp)Cinnamon
- 0.5Teaspoons (tsp)Turmeric powder
- 1PinchSalt
- 1Psc.Chicken stock
- 1CupBasmati rice
- 1.5Cupwater
- 1Teaspoons (tsp)Ghee

We heat the oil or ghee in a pot over the stove

We add the chicken cubes and sauté until the color changes and they begin to cook through.

We add the curry powder and stir to coat the chicken evenly.

We add the chopped onion, followed by the carrots and corn, and then the mushrooms.

We stir all the ingredients together for a few minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.

We add the cinnamon, turmeric, salt, and chicken bouillon cube, then mix everything well.

We add water — for every cup of rice, we use 1½ cups of water.

We let the mixture boil for 5 minutes.

We add the washed basmati rice and stir gently.

We keep the heat on medium until most of the water reduces and disappears from the surface.

We then lower the heat to very low, cover the pot tightly, and let the rice cook until fully done and the water is absorbed.

We turn off the heat and leave the pot covered for 5 minutes before serving.
