Steps

    Mix the sugar and 100 gm ghee very well.

    Add the semolina and rub it in until well combined.

    Pour in the warm or room-temperature milk and mix gently—do not overmix to avoid activating gluten.

    Pour the mixture into a greased baking tray (35–40 cm in diameter).

    Bake in a preheated oven at the highest temperature (220–240°C).

    Once placed in the oven, lower the heat to 200°C and bake until the edges are golden, then turn on the top broiler to brown the surface.

    Once out of the oven, immediately pour the hot syrup on top, leave for 15 minutes, then drain any excess syrup.
