Cut four large onions into very thin slices.

We separate the onion slices from each other.

Place the onions in a colander and add a tablespoon of salt.

Mix the onion with the salt thoroughly until the salt is evenly distributed.

Leave the onions for 10 minutes to allow the water to evaporate.

Heat two large cups of oil in a deep frying pan.

Place the chopped onion in the hot oil and leave it for two minutes without stirring, shaking the pan gently if necessary.

When the onions begin to brown, stir them continuously, pressing them down so that they brown evenly.

Remove the onions immediately when they turn light golden brown, as they will darken slightly after removal.

Place the onions on a strainer or mesh and spread them out until they cool completely and remain crispy.
