    Heat the oil (maize and olive oil) in a pot over the heat, then add the meat and brown it on both sides.

    Add the onions, garlic, potatoes, spices, and salt, then sauté them on high heat for 5 minutes.

    Transfer them to a baking dish, add the bay leaves, and then pour in 1.5 cups of boiling water.

    Cover the baking dish and place it in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 1 to 1.5 hours, then broil the top for the last 5 minutes.
