We place half a cup of warm milk (or water) in a bowl.

We add the yeast, sugar, flour, and a pinch of salt

We add one tablespoon of olive oil

We leave the dough for some time until the yeast starts to react and bubbles appear

We knead the ingredients into a smooth dough.

We cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place for 15 to 20 minutes until it rises.

After proofing, we divide the dough into four equal parts.

We roll out each piece on a floured surface using a rolling pin, shaping it into a thin round disc.

We heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.

We place the dough round in the hot pan and wait until bubbles appear on the surface.

We flip the dough to cook the other side until golden.

We place the desired filling (such as cheese or za’atar) on one side of the dough.

We fold the dough into a half-moon shape, sealing the filling inside.

We continue cooking until the dough is fully cooked and has a golden color.
