Wash the brown lentils and place them in a pot with water and salt. Boil over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until semi-cooked.

In a separate pan, heat olive oil and add the sliced onions. Sauté until golden and caramelized. Then add a cup of cold water and salt to taste.

Add the lentils with the boiling water to the onions and stir well, then add the washed bulgur. Reduce the heat and cover the pot. Leave the mixture to cook on low heat for another 15 minutes or until the bulgur and lentils are fully cooked.

When the water dries up, add olive oil.
