Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels
Ingredients
- 3CupFlour
- 1PinchSalt
- 2Grams (g) Butter
- 1CupWarm water
- 2Grams (g) Instant yeast
- 2CupBoiling Water
- 1Teaspoons (tsp)Baking soda
- 100Milliliters (mL)Melted butter
- 2Teaspoons (tsp)Cinnamon
- 0.5CupSugar
Steps
- 1
Mix the instant yeast with two tablespoons of sugar in a cup of warm water and set it aside for 10 minutes to activate.
- 2
After 10 minutes, we place the flour and salt in a mixing bowl, then add the yeast mixture.
- 3
We knead the dough (by hand or with a mixer) for about 7 minutes until we get a soft and smooth texture
- 4
We add the room-temperature butter to the dough and knead again for 2–3 minutes until the butter is fully incorporated.
- 5
We place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- 6
After rising, we divide the dough into 5 equal balls, cover them, and let them rest for another 15 minutes.
- 7
We shape each dough ball into the classic pretzel form as shown in the video or in the traditional twist shape.
- 8
We prepare a deep pot with 2 liters of boiling water and add the baking soda. We dip each pretzel into the water for 30 seconds per side.
- 9
We drain the pretzels and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- 10
We bake the pretzels in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F), with both top and bottom heat, for about 12–15 minutes until golden.
- 11
After baking, we dip each pretzel into the melted butter, then coat it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
- 12
We serve warm with a cup of coffee or tea—delicious and addictive!
