- 1.5CupWarm water

We place the flour in a large glass bowl.

We add the sugar, instant yeast, baking powder, and salt.

We add the cornstarch, custard powder, and milk powder

We mix the dry ingredients well using a hand whisk.

We add the oil, then gradually pour in the warm water while stirring continuously.

We mix until a smooth, liquid batter forms.

We cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel, and leave it to ferment until it doubles in size.

After fermentation, we transfer the batter into a piping bag.

We heat oil in a deep frying pan.

We use the piping bag and scissors to cut small pieces of dough, dropping them directly into the hot oil.

We fry the dough balls until golden in color.

We remove the zalabya from the oil with a strainer, and repeat the frying until all the batter is used.
