Tortilla Bread
Ingredients
- 2Tablespoons (tbsp)All-purpose flour
- 0.25Tablespoons (tbsp)Baking powder
- 1PinchSalt
- 0.5Liters (L)Hot water
- 3CupOil
Steps
- 1
Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix well.
- 2
Add the oil and rub it into the flour using your hands until all the flour is coated with oil.
- 3
Gradually add the hot water and knead for at least 10 minutes until the dough becomes soft and cohesive. Adjust the water amount depending on the type of flour.
- 4
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- 5
Divide the dough into small equal balls, cover them again, and let them rest for another 5 minutes.
- 6
Lightly flour a clean surface and roll each ball into a thin round sheet. Use a plate to cut perfect circles if desired.
- 7
Carefully lift each round and place it on a preheated non-stick pan over medium heat.
- 8
Flip the tortilla once it starts to firm up. It will puff slightly at the edges and then settle. Flip again for about a minute, then remove from the pan.
- 9
Immediately cover the cooked tortillas with a clean cloth to keep them soft and prevent drying out.
