We put 1 cup of sugar in a pot over the heat.

We stir slowly until the sugar completely dissolves.

We let the mixture boil for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

We add ice to the cold water to make the test

We perform a glucose test by dropping a bit of the mixture into a cup filled with water and ice — if the drop holds its shape, it’s ready.

We pour the glucose into a glass or a jar and let it cool completely.

Once it cools, the glucose becomes much thicker, so it’s best to slightly warm it before use.
