We start by placing the spices (onion, black lemon, and bay leaves) in the pot and stir them in the oil.

We add the chicken to the pot and stir it with the spices until it browns slightly.

We add the water and let the chicken boil until fully cooked.

In another pot, we heat the oil and add the chopped onion, then stir it.

We add the chopped tomatoes and leave them until they wilt.

We add the tomato paste, kabsa spices, and salt, then stir well.

We add the chicken broth, reducing one cup of broth from the usual amount due to the moisture in the tomatoes and onions.
