Ingredients

  • 1CupSugar
  • 1Tablespoons (tbsp)Vegetable oil
  • 0.75Cuporange juice
  • 2CupFlour
  • 1Tablespoons (tbsp)Baking powder
  • 1CupWalnut
  • 1CupMaple syrup

Steps

    Beat the eggs and sugar for at least five minutes until we get a light, fluffy, pale yellow mixture.

    Gradually add the oil while continuing to beat.

    Gradually add the orange juice while continuing to beat.

    Add the flour and baking powder and stir gently to maintain the air in the mixture.

    Pour the batter into the pan and evenly spread the chopped walnuts on top.

    Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 35-45 minutes (depending on the oven), checking with a toothpick to ensure it's done.

    Pour the maple syrup over the cake and let it cool before cutting.

    Notes: The quantities are suitable for a 22 cm pan. Measurements are in standard measuring cups. It's very important to use high-quality, natural maple syrup (preferably Canadian maple syrup).
