Soak the chickpeas before cooking, preferably a day ahead, but soaking them in hot water for two hours can be a quicker alternative.

In a pot of water, add chopped tomatoes, onion, carrot, garlic, and cumin.

Add the soaked chickpeas to the pot.

Cover the pot, and once it starts boiling, lower the heat.

Once the chickpeas are cooked, remove the vegetables and blend them.

Strain the blended vegetables and pour the liquid back into the chickpeas.

Add salt, pepper, and cumin to taste.

Stir well, cover the pot again, and let it simmer over low heat.

Take a small amount of the chickpea broth.

Add the chili, coriander, and cumin.
