Ingredients

  • 2Teaspoons (tsp)Clarified ghee
  • 2CupOlive oil
  • 400Grams (g) Ground meat
  • 1To TasteBlack pepper
  • 400CupGreen Beans
  • 1PinchSalt
  • 1CupSugar
  • 2.5Cupwater
  • 1CupEgyptian rice
  • 1CupRoasted Cashew

Steps

    In a pot, add the Smen Baladie and olive oil.

    Add the ground meat and sauté until fully cooked.

    Season with pepper, then add the green broad beans and stir.

    Add salt and sugar and mix well.

    Pour in 1 cup of water, cover the pot, and let it cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.

    Reserve a small portion of the meat and bean mixture for garnish.

    Add the half-hour soaked rice to the pot along with salt and 1½ cups of water.

    Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.

    After cooking, add 1 tablespoon of Smen Baladie on top and gently fluff the rice.

    Serve the rice with the reserved meat and beans on top, optionally garnished with roasted cashews or mixed vegetables
