We place 1.5 liters of boiling water in a pot over the heat.

We add date paste or pitted dates to the boiling water and stir well until they start to dissolve.

We continue stirring while mashing the dates slightly with a wooden spoon or masher until the mixture becomes smooth.

If the mixture is too thick, we gradually add more boiling water until we achieve a smooth consistency.

We toast the flour over the heat, then gradually add it while ensuring it is sifted beforehand to prevent lumps.

We continue adding the flour in batches while stirring constantly until it fully combines with the dates and forms a uniform mixture.

We add more boiling water if needed to adjust the consistency, stirring continuously.

We add sugar according to preference and mix well until it dissolves completely

We add cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper, and optionally saffron, rose water, or ginger powder if desired.

We transfer the porridge to serving cups and brush the surface with a little butter for extra shine and flavor.
