    Heat the butter and oil in a pot.

    Fry the nuts in the oil until they change color, then remove them and set aside.

    In the same oil, add the whole spices (bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom), rice, and stir well.

    Add the hot broth to the rice, and once it starts boiling, cover the pot and reduce the heat to the lowest setting.

    Let the rice cook for about 20 minutes until done.

    Serve the rice with grilled meat or chicken, garnished with nuts, and a side of cucumber yogurt salad.
