Ingredients

  • 1Kilograms (kg)Chicken
  • 5Psc.Onion slices
  • 1PinchSalt
  • 1To TasteBlack pepper
  • 1Teaspoons (tsp)Dried Coriander
  • 1Teaspoons (tsp)Cumin
  • 1Teaspoons (tsp)Turmeric powder
  • 2Tablespoons (tbsp)Sumac
  • 2CupPomegranate molasses
  • 2CupOlive oil

Steps

    Place the sliced onions in a baking tray.

    Add sumac, spices (coriander, cumin, salt, black pepper, turmeric), pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, and olive oil, then mix well.

    Add the chicken pieces on top and coat them well with the marinade

    Cover the tray with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 45 minutes.

    Remove the foil and let the chicken brown for another 20 minutes until golden.

    Serve the musakhan chicken with bread and garnish with parsley, pine nuts, and pomegranate seeds.
