Ingredients

- 1Tablespoons (tbsp)Orange Zest

Cut the orange into thin slices, keeping the peel on.

Place a cup of sugar and water in a pan over medium heat until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Add the orange slices and cook until they become completely tender (15–20 minutes).

Beat the eggs with a cup of sugar in a bowl until the mixture becomes light in color and fluffy.

Gradually add the oil while mixing.

Add the orange juice and continue mixing.

Add the orange zest, flour, baking powder, and salt, then fold gently until the batter is smooth.

Line the baking tin with parchment paper.

Arrange the cooked orange slices at the bottom of the tin.

Pour the cake batter gently over the orange slices.

Bake in a preheated oven at 165°C (top and bottom heat + turbo) for 35–40 minutes, depending on the oven.

Allow the cake to cool slightly before flipping and serving.
