  • 1Kilograms (kg)Green figs
  • 0.5CupSugar
  • 1Psc.Lemon juice
  • 1Psc.Aniseed grains
  • 2Tablespoons (tbsp)Roasted sesame
  • 0.5CupChopped Walnuts

    Wash the figs thoroughly, then cut each fig in half.

    Place the figs in a deep bowl, add the sugar, and mix well.

    Cover the bowl and refrigerate it overnight (about 8 hours) so the figs absorb the sugar.

    The next day, transfer the figs along with the syrup they released into a pot over medium heat.

    When the mixture starts boiling, skim off the white foam that forms on the surface.

    Add the anise seeds, toasted sesame seeds, and chopped walnuts, then let the jam simmer on low heat for 30 minutes until it thickens.

    Finally, add the lemon juice and let it boil for a few more minutes, then turn off the heat

    Let the jam cool completely, then store it in clean, airtight glass jars.
